I have been listening to the songs from this Album ( 李克勤演奏廳 II) -- I am very careful in my choice of words (no use of CD haha) .... This is a good album and recommend others to get hold of it if possible!

3D Logic

I have found (thanks to BBC Click) this game called 3D Logic (making me feel a bit more relax about the notion of logic!!). I recommend people to give this a try.

Filling

Just had my first tooth filling (consequence of not bothering to see a dentist for a longer period of time....) ... I have got to tell u that needle was very long!! and she used it on my gum!! Too bad well my face is half numb... and it is time for some work....

Film fans faint at Saw III show

Gosh... this must be one of the most disgusting films of all times... people actually fainted ... and I went to watch it at midnight on Friday!! Having said it was pretty gruesome and disgusting!!

第一次

Today for the first time I have received a written comment "Your submission for this assignment was perfect..." umm... now I am relieved a little bit because this means I am on the right track... 孤火ing again and again!!

Gym

I went to the gym today for the first time for a long long time!! It was tiresome after being advised to use the ROWING MACHINE!! I only rowed a 1000 m (that's less than 5 mins) and I was complete knackered!! Then proceed to the swimming pool and best of all the SAUNA it was good!!... I am still considering if I should join the club... it is a bit dear but I might just be able to handle the cost since I do not really spend on other things... umm

Which one to pick?

枝豆

I do not remember if I have ever tried these so called 枝豆 before... but they actually tasted better than I have imagined since they are very "hairy"... This restaurant we were at incidentally is called Edamame (枝豆) and this dish is their signature....not a bad place .... although I would not go there to have regular dinner (it is not the cheapest venue and I felt a lot of the food were deep fried -- or we have ordered too much of it -- and it might just give people the wrong impression of what Japanese food is all about -- I am not saying I know anything about what it really is!!)... quote from their web site it said that it serves "authentic home cooked style Japanese food"....

A fat cat en route to comlab

I saw this cat while I was heading to comlab for a seminar... he is puffy (fat) and actually when I returned in the evening I saw him again but there was another one (smaller) who meows repetitively and loudly... that really suprises me!! hahaha

Nice health club

I have paid a visit to this very nice health club today and some of the facilities are brilliant... people look better there even hohoho...

New apartment

This is our new apartment... the landlord (as you probably have gathered this place is rented haha) seems like a nice person and terribly young to be one haha.... this place is situated at the edge of the nice nice area... umm should I say a bit like Earls Court/Chelsea in London haha.... but only much cheaper!! Hope we will find this place enjoyable in the coming months.....

New college website

Haha I could not believe but finally the college has come up with a new web site !! Surely this one looks better!! Having said I am having trouble in finding the college minibus timetable and the link to the lovely barco web site!!

This was our 入夥酒 and the food was delicious... a lot of work has been done to get everything sorted over the week and to make "入夥" actually possible.... plus the meal was of a high standard as usual!!

To Summertown

Have finally settled into summertown with internet!!... have been doing a lot of moving around lately and actually for the last couple of weeks I was virtually cut out from the outside world i.e. the media!! Luckily now internet is restore and I actually drove down to london from leicester and from there back to oxford so am kind of tired. Got to get up early tomorrow for the PRG conference (departmental) and am actually going to give a presentation in the afternoon... hopefully it will be ok... fingers cross!!

Today we went to have lunch at McDonalds and I could not help but to take a photo of the junks we are having!!! Gosh I was still full during dinner (it will be even worse if I say we went to a steak house tonight!!)... now it is around bed time and I am still stuffed!!

Google Module

Just started to use google personalised home page. It offers many useful modules and also allows users to develop (they should be called developers) their own modules which are actually xml codes. These modules resemble a bit like firefox search plugins but only modules allow users to embed html content into their modules. I have created the following module for Baidu Music Search. ^_^

Bike from London to Beijing!!

I think this is pretty cool... I did some charitable work before but nothing like biking from London to Beijing!! ... well keep up the good work!!

Well actually I did not expect to be accepted... I guess I am a PRS and get priority in this hahaha...

On the other hand... this was received earlier this month...

We regret to inform you that your submission to the research track of 4th International conference on... "A Process Algebraic Approach to Workflow Verification" was not accepted for publication.

And apparently it is pretty competitive this year.

The review process was highly selective as in the preceding years, admitting only 34 papers from the 200+ papers submitted.

So now I am not going to Chicago but only next door to Keble umm....

Well hopefully I can make my OWN way to a cool conference next time (through a good paper obviously) ....

This is cool... as I am sure and "many" will agree with me that cat is one of the best pets to have although there are always ethical issues with controlled breeding (I think so is the whole notion of having a pet hahaha)

This is a massive cake I have had for lunch today.... I think I have stuffed my face again aaahhh..... Incidentally I actually have 3 meals a day while at conference (healthier I suppose).....

Thai Food at Nottingham

I thought I was going to have my dinner at the meeting tonight (Tapas Buffet)... I did have some and it was not terribly nice... however the CancerGrid people with the MRC (i think) decided to have Thai food tonight and this is what you get: gaeng khiao wan gai with lots of kao-niaw with a glass of red wine hohohohoho!!!

Umm just for the record... we were having Thai food when the Thai PM was "overthrown in army coup"...umm....

East Midland Conference Centre

I attended the first day of All Hands today. It was not too bad... seeing some familiar faces including Ligang who used to be a phd at Warwick HPSG and now at Cambridge e-Science (apparently he is going back to Warwick to teach). The OMII people demonstrated the use of BPEL in clinical trial (specifically in orchestrating services for clinical randomisation) however I felt there was clearly not enough time given for the demo and hence the setting up of the BPEL instance using Eclipse looked very laborious....

Finally at All Hands, now only an hour before the first session commences.... well Nottingham Uni looks pretty good (a very campus uni... a bit like Warwick hahaha) hopefully I can get some insight for my work in the next couple of days ^_^.
