Teaching... Marking... Researching.... Searching...

Umm... It seems that I have been spending most of this week learning how to teach (even I have been teaching for the past 5 weeks). interviewing undergraduate students and marking their projects, will also do some invigilating next week followed by more marking (umm....) .... Research is slow, painful and generally not being very productive at the moment... Searching.... for what.... answer to life? best way to make a cup of tea? lifetime companionship? short-term relationship? the pub which serves the best pint of Guiness.... or just to find ways to consume the fuel of life? Or is searching the meaning of life "is the only meaning of life"

Mula and Kilesa

mula: Literally, "root". The fundamental conditions in the mind that determine the moral quality -- skillful (kusala) or unskillful (akusala) -- of one's intentional actions (kamma). The three unskillful roots are lobha (greed), dosa (aversion), and moha (delusion); the skillful roots are their opposites.

kilesa: Defilement -- lobha (passion), dosa (aversion), and moha (delusion) in their various forms, which include such things as greed, malevolence, anger, rancor, hypocrisy, arrogance, envy, miserliness, dishonesty, boastfulness, obstinacy, violence, pride, conceit, intoxication, and complacency.

Wa Ngai nong sao!!

Haha, it has been made clear in the minds of many.... I think it is good to learn different cultures and languages... and University is undoubtedly the best medium to go about doing it.... I wish all students understand this point.... University life is not just about getting a degree?! But also about broadening the horizon hahahahha

Piano Playing

Umm... I have always thought that only certain professional individuals can perform pieces like Grande Polonaise Brillante, Ballade in G minor, Fantasie Impromptu, La Campanella or Moonlight Sonata Presto.... Well I guess that is not true here. I personally witness many who are able to deliver those pieces a bit like a walk through the park... I guess.....
